Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. All sales are final
Harris Academia does not give refunds. This applies to monthly subscriptions and to one-off purchases alike, whether the material was used or not.
Cancelling is not a refund. Cancelling stops future billing. It does not return the month you are in, in whole or in part.
2. Why
Access here is immediate and complete. The moment a subscription starts, the whole course opens: every lesson, every question, every explanation, every practice test. There is no partial delivery and nothing to return. A student who subscribes has the material, and reading it is the product.
This is why the price is what it is. We would rather charge less and hold to a clear rule than charge more to cover refunds.
3. Cancelling a subscription
You can cancel at any time, from your account, without asking us and without giving a reason. When you cancel:
- Future billing stops immediately. You will not be charged again. There is no notice period and no cancellation fee.
- The month you have already paid for is not refunded, in whole or in part, however many days of it are left and however much of the course you used.
- Your access continues to the end of that month. You have paid for it, so you keep it until it runs out. Then the course closes.
- Your progress is kept. If you subscribe again later you pick up where you left off rather than starting over.
Cancelling partway through a month is therefore never worth doing early. You keep the access either way, so there is no advantage to cancelling on the 2nd rather than the 27th — except that cancelling early means you cannot forget.
4. A worked example
A student subscribes to the SAT Course on 1 March and is billed $90 for March. On 10 March they decide to stop and cancel.
- No further payment is taken — nothing on 1 April or after.
- The twenty unused days of March are not refunded.
- The SAT Course stays open until the end of 31 March, then closes.
- Their progress and any articles or exams they bought outright stay on the account.
5. Exams and articles bought outright
MCAT full-length exams and Reading Strengthening articles are bought one at a time rather than by subscription. They are permanent and non-refundable. Once bought:
- the item stays on your account for good, with or without a subscription;
- it can be worked through as often as you like;
- it cannot be returned, exchanged, transferred to another account, or refunded — including if it is bought by mistake, and including if it is never opened.
Check what you are buying before you confirm. Each article shows its title, its subject, its length and what it covers before any payment is taken.
6. How to cancel
- Sign in and open Courses & Pricing.
- Find the course you want to stop.
- Use the cancel option on that course.
Each course is cancelled separately, because each is a separate subscription. Cancelling the SAT Course does not cancel the ACT Course.
If you paid through PayPal you can also cancel from inside your PayPal account. Doing it here is better, because we are told immediately either way but only this way is your account updated at the same moment.
If anything goes wrong while cancelling, email us straight away and we will make sure you are not billed again.
7. Billing errors, which we do fix
“No refunds” is about buyer’s remorse. It is not a licence to keep money we were never owed. We will always correct:
- a duplicate charge — the same thing paid for twice;
- a charge after you cancelled;
- a charge for the wrong amount;
- a charge for something you never received, where our records confirm the access was not given.
Tell us and we will look at the payment record and put it right. This is not a refund of a purchase; it is returning money that was taken in error.
8. Chargebacks
If you think you have been charged wrongly, please email us first. Almost everything is sorted out the same day.
A chargeback raised against a legitimate charge will be contested with the payment record, and the account may be closed while it is open. If you have a genuine billing problem, talking to us is faster and works better.
9. Before you subscribe
Because there are no refunds, we have tried to make it possible to judge each course without paying for it:
- the placement test for the K–12 course is free and needs no account;
- the MCAT Diagnostic Test is free and needs no account;
- the SAT and ACT course overviews are public — the full outline, the domains, and how much material each holds;
- every Reading Strengthening article shows its subject, its length and a description before you buy it.
Use them. If you are unsure whether a course is the right one, call 248-904-0773 and ask before subscribing rather than after.
10. Your rights under the law
Nothing on this page removes a right you have under consumer law that cannot be waived by agreement. Where such a right applies, it applies.
