Terms of Service

1. Who you are agreeing with

These terms are an agreement between you and Harris Academia (“we”, “us”), a tutoring and test-preparation service operating in Michigan. They cover this website, the self-guided courses, the practice tests and the one-on-one sessions we book through it.

By creating an account, buying a subscription or a single item, or booking a session, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

2. Accounts and who may use them

An account belongs to one person. You sign in with a link sent to your email address, so that email address is your identity here — keep access to it, and do not forward a sign-in link to anyone else.

You agree to:

• give a real name and an email address you control;
• keep your sign-in link and your account to yourself;
• tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used your account.

3. Students under 18

If the student is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must set up the account and agree to these terms. The parent or guardian is the account holder, is responsible for anything bought through the account, and can see the student’s work and progress.

If you are under 18 and using the service, you are doing so with a parent or guardian’s permission and under their account.

4. What a subscription gives you

Each course is a separate monthly subscription. Subscribing to one course opens that course and no other. The MCAT course does not open the SAT course; neither opens the K–12 self-guided course. What each one costs, and what it includes, is listed on the Courses page.

Some things are sold once rather than monthly:

• MCAT full-length exams, bought one exam at a time;
• Reading Strengthening articles, bought one article at a time.

Those are permanent: once bought, they stay on your account whether or not you hold any subscription, and they do not renew or expire.

5. How the material may be used

Everything on the site — the lessons, the questions, the passages, the explanations and the practice tests — is written by us and belongs to us. While your access is live we give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it to study. That is all it is a licence to do.

You may not:

• copy, download, screenshot, record or otherwise reproduce the material for distribution — the course material is deliberately view-only;
• share it, post it, or upload it to any other site, app, tutoring service, study group, file share or question bank;
• sell it, rent it, or use it to teach or tutor anyone else commercially;
• use automated tools to scrape, crawl or bulk-download any part of the site;
• attempt to reach material you have not paid for.

Notes you write for yourself are yours. The questions and explanations are not.

6. Paying, renewing and cancelling

Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically until you cancel. The price you see when you subscribe is the price you pay each month; if we ever change it, we will tell you before the change takes effect and you will be free to cancel.

You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancelling stops all future billing straight away. It does not refund the month you are in.

Payments are handled by PayPal. We never see or store your full card number. Where you pay by transfer or in person instead, access opens once we have confirmed the payment by hand, which is usually the same day.

7. What we do not promise

We work hard to make the material accurate and the practice tests realistic. We do not promise a particular score, a particular improvement, admission to any programme, or any other outcome. Test results depend on the student.

Our practice scores are estimates. The real tests convert raw marks to their scales using tables that are published only with each released form; we scale our own way and say so on every results page. Treat a practice score as a guide to what to work on, not as a prediction.

Nothing here is medical, legal, financial or admissions advice.

8. Whose tests these are

All of our practice questions and passages are written by us. We do not reproduce questions from any official exam, practice test or commercial preparation course.

9. Changes to the courses and to these terms

We add, revise and occasionally remove material as exams change — the ACT changed substantially in 2025, and the SAT in 2024, and courses have to follow. We may also change these terms. If a change materially affects what you are paying for, we will tell you by email before it takes effect, and you can cancel if you do not accept it. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

We do not guarantee the site will be available without interruption. Servers fail and maintenance happens.

10. Ending your access

You can stop at any time by cancelling your subscription.

We may suspend or close an account that shares a subscription, copies or redistributes the material, tries to reach content it has not paid for, charges back a legitimate payment, or abuses the service or our staff. Where the breach is minor and fixable, we will normally warn you first. Where an account is closed for a serious breach, no refund is given.

11. Limits on our liability

The service is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — for example a missed application deadline, a lost place, or a test result you are unhappy with.

Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing in them removes any right you have under consumer law that cannot be waived by agreement.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Michigan, and any dispute will be heard in the courts of Oakland County, Michigan, unless the law says otherwise.

If one part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
