Science
Overview
Science education is built around helping students move from memorizing facts to thinking like scientists — asking questions, forming hypotheses, and evaluating evidence. National science education standards emphasize this kind of scientific literacy as a core outcome of K-12 schooling, not simply preparation for a future science career.
That foundation matters well beyond the science classroom. Learning to evaluate evidence and reason through cause and effect connects directly to skills used in standardized testing, advanced coursework, and fields far outside the traditional sciences, from public policy to personal health decisions. Students who build strong science fundamentals early are better equipped to take on advanced coursework — including chemistry, physics, and eventually pre-health tracks like the MCAT — with confidence rather than catching up later.
